Derek Norman

Derek Norman is an experienced leader in venture investments with a current role as Vice President at Leaps by Bayer since March 2019. Alongside this position, Derek serves as a board member for multiple companies, including Ukko, Pairwise, Andes, CoverCress Inc., and previously Combyne Ag and Plant Response. Prior to joining Leaps by Bayer, Derek held significant roles at Syngenta from August 2009 to March 2019, including Head of Corporate Venture Capital and Managing Director of Syngenta Ventures. Derek's expertise is further underscored by directorial positions at Agrimetis and Sound Agriculture. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Stanford University and a PhD in Chemistry from Harvard University.
