Sigrid Eeckhout

Sigrid Eeckhout possesses extensive experience in communication and stakeholder engagement within the nuclear energy sector. As the Co-Chair and Bureau Member of the OECD/NEA Forum on Stakeholder Confidence since September 2016, Sigrid has been influential in promoting transparency and public trust in nuclear energy initiatives. Additionally, Sigrid serves as the Head of Communications and Participation at ONDRAF/NIRAS, the Belgian Agency for Radioactive Waste, a position held since November 2010. Sigrid’s expertise extends to various roles, including Communications Manager at EIG EURIDICE and Communications Manager with a focus on societal dimensions at ONDRAF/NIRAS. Earlier career highlights include a postdoctoral position at FWO-Vlaanderen and a Beamline Scientist role at the European Radiation Synchrotron Facility. Sigrid holds a Ph.D. in Geology and has pursued further education in science communication and soil sciences.
