Colin Rom currently serves as the Public Policy Lead for a16z Bio + Health at Andreessen Horowitz since January 2023. Previously, Colin held the position of Managing Director of Science and Innovation Policy at Mayo Clinic from July 2021 to January 2023. Experience includes roles as Senior Advisor to the Commissioner of Food and Drugs and Advisor to the Deputy Commissioner for Policy, Legislation, and International Affairs at the FDA from May 2019 to January 2021. Colin also worked as a Confidential Assistant at the Office of Management and Budget and held various positions in the Office of U.S. Senator Richard Burr and the Office of U.S. Congressman Richard Hudson. Colin began a Master of Science in Biotechnology Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at The Johns Hopkins University in August 2022 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from the University of Mary Washington.
