Jeff Bramel

Jeff Bramel is a partner on the a16z Perennial team focused on real assets.

Prior to joining a16z, Jeff was managing director and head of taxable real assets at UBS Asset Management, a $1 trillion global asset manager with over $150 billion in real assets. In this role he led the firm’s real asset investment strategies catering to taxable investors. Before that, Jeff headed real assets for an $18 billion multi-family office in San Francisco. Jeff’s earlier roles included managing investments for a multi-billion dollar east coast single family office, serving as co-founding managing member of the Sequoia Heritage Fund, and leading hedge fund and fixed income investments for Jasper Ridge Partners. Jeff started his finance career as a derivatives trader and has over 25 years of professional investment management experience.

Jeff graduated with a double major BS in engineering and economics from Caltech and an MSc in engineering-economic systems and operations research from Stanford. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys being a father, building things, making music, and outdoor sports like hiking, skiing, kayaking, and rock climbing.
