Michael Gordon is the non-Executive Chair of Angelo Gordon’s Partnership Advisory Board. Michael co-founded Angelo Gordon with John Angelo in 1988 and oversaw the firm’s research operations, responsible for the quality and depth of research that remains the hallmark of the firm. He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chief Investment Officer, responsible for the overall management of the firm and working in partnership with co-CIOs, Adam Schwartz and Josh Baumgarten to manage the diverse investment ideas within each discipline to provide an appropriate balance of risk and reward. Michael began his career as a research analyst for L.F. Rothschild in 1970, specializing in the oil and oil service industries. Michael served as Director of Research of L.F. Rothschild’s Arbitrage Department and became a Managing Director of the firm. Michael is on the Board of Directors of the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. He is a Trustee of Colby College and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Michael has a B.A. degree from Colby College and a J.D. degree from Boston University Law School.
