Karen Walker

Karen Walker is an experienced educational leader with a robust background in communications and instructional leadership. Currently serving as the Director of Communications at Anna ISD since June 2022, Karen previously held the role of Teaching and Learning Coordinator at Region 10 ESC from 2017 to June 2022. Prior positions include House Principal at Kingwood High School and District Director of Secondary Instruction at Celina ISD, focusing on curriculum development for grades 7-12. Karen's earlier experience includes roles as Assistant Principal at both Celina ISD and Van Alstyne High School, as well as teaching Broadcast Journalism, which garnered national awards for student work. Karen's professional journey began in journalism, having worked as a General Assignments Reporter for both KCEN-TV and 12 Media KXII Television. Karen holds a BS in Journalism from Texas Tech University and is pursuing a Master's in Educational Administration at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
