Nathan Brown

Nathan Brown has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Nathan started their career as a Secretarial Clerk at HIP in 2007. In 2008, Nathan joined Sterling National Bank as an Accounts Payable Administrator, where they efficiently processed invoices and cut checks.

In 2014, Nathan attended the New York Code + Design Academy as a Junior Full-Stack Web Development student. Shortly after, they joined Annalect, a member of the Omnicom Media Group, as a Junior Innovator. In this role, Nathan engaged in quick prototyping, built proof of concept demos, and crafted data into smart visualizations.

Nathan then progressed to the role of Senior Innovator at Annalect Labs, where they contributed to building fast, innovative projects and pushed forward proprietary research and development within Omnicom. As an Associate Director of Annalect Labs, Nathan became a tech lead of sprint teams, handling code reviews, deployments, and troubleshooting technical difficulties. Nathan also worked on an innovative workstream around UI components and developer utilities.

Currently, Nathan serves as the Director of Engineering at Annalect, where they oversee several web engineering tracks that build Omni, Omnicom's operating system. Nathan is responsible for team health, setting and ingraining engineering standards, development of senior talent, and maintaining an apprenticeship pipeline. Additionally, Nathan leads Annalect's design system and component toolkit, Omni-UI.

Nathan Brown completed a Web Development Intensive Certificate program at the New York Code + Design Academy starting in 2014. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2002, they attended Moody Bible Institute and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pastoral Studies. In addition to their formal education, Nathan obtained a certification in Omni Foundations from Annalect in October 2022.
