Mircea T. Sofonea

Mircea T. Sofonea is an Associate Professor of infectious disease epidemiology and evolution at Université de Montpellier, where they also serve as the research head of the ExposUM Institute. They hold an Habilitation à diriger des recherches in health from Sorbonne Université and have a PhD in multiple infections and virulence evolution from Université de Montpellier. Mircea has held various academic roles, including invited lecturer positions in public health and biology, and serves as a methodologist and scientific advisor for different organizations. Their research focuses on improving the understanding and anticipation of epidemiological and evolutionary dynamics of infectious diseases through multi-level quantitative analysis.
