Jana Brunken's work experience begins in 2004 as an Industrial Designer/Researcher at Big Bang, where they organized and analyzed research projects and created concepts for various industries. In 2006, they started working as a Freelance Graphic Designer/Artist and Marketing Administrator, collaborating with clients to develop marketing collateral and writing/editing text for brochures and press releases. Jana then transitioned to the education field, becoming a Substitute Teacher at Gwinnett County Public Schools in 2009, followed by a role as a Middle School Math Teacher, where they designed lesson plans and assessments. Jana also worked as a Teacher at Sylvan Learning Center, providing academic instruction to individual students. In 2012, Jana joined the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine as an Educational Specialist and later became a Medical Education Specialist, coordinating courses and administering exams. Currently, they are employed at ansrsource, holding various roles such as Learning Designer, Senior Learning Designer for Visual Design, and currently as a Senior Learning Architect, Visual Design.

Jana Brunken began their education in 2002 at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design in 2006. In 2010 and 2011, they participated in the TeachGwinnett TAPP Program, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for this program. Jana has also obtained several additional certifications throughout their educational journey. In 2016, they received a certificate in Gamification from Coursera Course Certificates. In 2021, they completed a course called "A Beginner's Guide to Racial Justice" at ansrsource. Most recently, in 2023, they obtained a Creating Leadership Development Programs Certificate from the Association for Talent Development (ATD).
