Simon Kornblith is currently a Member of the Technical Staff at Anthropic, a position held since September 2023. Previously, Simon served as a Staff Research Scientist at Google from July 2017 to September 2023, focusing on basic research in deep learning. Earlier in Simon's career, significant research was conducted at MIT as a Graduate Student from September 2010 to June 2017, where the neural basis of visual short-term memory in monkeys was studied. Simon also contributed as a Senior Developer for Zotero at the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media from May 2005 to February 2017, enhancing one of the world's leading reference management tools. Further research experience includes analysis of data from human epilepsy patients and studies on scene processing in monkeys during an undergraduate researcher role at Caltech from June 2007 to September 2010. Educational credentials include a B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science from Caltech and a Ph.D. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
