Birger Nergaard is the Founder and Director of Verdane Capital, a position held since establishing the company in 1984. Previously the company's Managing Partner until 2008, Birger has also served as an Independent Regional Advisor for Advent International since 2012, advising on investment opportunities in the Nordic region. In addition, Birger holds various board and advisory roles, including Deputy Director at Maritime & Merchant Bank and Chairman of Nergaard Investment Partners AS. Birger was awarded King Harald V's Gold Medal in 2006 for pioneering the Norwegian venture capital and private equity industry. Educationally, Birger graduated summa cum laude in corporate law from the University of Oslo in 1977.
