Alan Chan

Alan Chan is an Astronomer at the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics at The Australian National University, where roles also include Student Observer and Support Astronomer, as well as involvement in educational outreach. An active member of the ANU Astronomy Society, Alan serves as President & Chief Astronomer and has taken on roles as ANU Student Ambassador and Disability Advocate of Wamburun Hall. Current volunteer work is conducted with the Australian Red Cross, while mentoring activities are pursued through the ACT Education Directorate. Alan has extensive experience in election processes, holding positions with various electoral commissions. Academic pursuits include a Bachelor of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics at The Australian National University and previous studies in Theoretical Physics, Space Science, and Engineering Physics across multiple institutions. Research focuses on fundamental physics applications, particularly high-frequency gravitational wave detection.
