Alex Burchmore

Alex Burchmore serves as a Lecturer in Art History and Curatorial Studies at The Australian National University, contributing to the Centre for Art History & Art Theory. Previously, Burchmore held a position as a Lecturer in Museum and Heritage Studies at the University of Sydney, focusing on the construction of meaning in museums and heritage sites. Prior experience includes a role as Publication Manager for Art Monthly Australasia, where Burchmore worked to foster critical discourse in the visual arts across the Asia-Pacific region, and as a Digitisation Assistant for an international collaborative project at The Australian National University. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Art History from The Australian National University and dual Master’s degrees in Curatorial & Museum Studies and Art History from the University of Adelaide.
