Andrew Fahey

Doctoral Student

Andrew Fahey is a doctoral student at The Australian National University since March 2022, building on a diverse background in anthropology and Indigenous studies. Prior experience includes serving as a regional anthropologist at the Central Land Council from 2017 to 2021, where responsibilities involved providing research assistance to Traditional Owners, assessing anthropological reports, and conducting fieldwork. As a research officer at Queensland South Native Title Services from 2010 to 2017, Andrew assisted Traditional Owners with Native Title research and managed genealogical and spatial data. Additional roles include mentorship at The University of Queensland through the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme, conducting research for the Urban Aboriginal Peoples Survey, and consulting for public and Aboriginal engagement with Integrated Environments Ltd. Andrew's educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Journalism with a focus on Indigenous studies and journalism, as well as an honours degree in anthropology from The University of Queensland.
