Christopher Hobson

Christopher Hobson is an accomplished academic currently serving as an Associate Professor and Program Convenor for the Bachelor of Asia Pacific Affairs at The Australian National University since October 2018. Based in Japan, Christopher manages a dual-degree program in collaboration with Ritsumeikan University. Prior to this role, Christopher held positions as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at Waseda University from September 2013 to September 2018, and worked as a Research Associate at the United Nations University from March 2010 to August 2013. Earlier academic experience includes serving as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Aberystwyth University from July 2008 to February 2010. Christopher earned a Doctor of Philosophy in International, Political, and Strategic Studies from The Australian National University (2005-2009), a Master of International Politics from the University of Melbourne (2002-2004), and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Melbourne (1998-2000).
