David Caldicott is an experienced Emergency Consultant at Canberra Health Services and the North Canberra Hospital since December 2012, with concurrent roles as a Clinical Associate Professor and Clinical Senior Lecturer at The Australian National University. David also supervises Junior Medical Officers at Calvary Health Care ACT, serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Canberra, and co-directs Verdigris Medical Education. As a co-founder of the Welsh Emergency Department Investigation of Novel Substances (WEDINOS) Group, David developed programs for identifying novel illicit drugs. Additionally, David provides expert commentary on illicit drug consumption patterns for the Australian Science Media Centre. Educationally, David holds multiple degrees, including a Master’s in Disaster Medicine, a Post Graduate Diploma in Toxicology, and an FRCEM in Emergency Medicine. David is actively involved in medical education and research mentoring, with prior lecturer experience at the University of Adelaide and emergency medicine practice in Abergavenny, UK.
