Edward Watson

Edward Watson is a professional with extensive experience in law and academia. Currently serving as an Assistant Director and Legal Officer at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade since May 2023, Edward is on study leave from September 2023 to August 2024. Additionally, Edward has been a Casual Academic at The Australian National University since February 2023 and previously worked as a Solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills from July 2016 to March 2023, with an extended leave from July 2021 to August 2022. Edward's legal background includes a tenure as a Paralegal and Associate to the Hon Chief Justice Kiefel AC at the High Court of Australia. In academia, Edward was a Tutor at the School of Economics at The University of Queensland from February 2015 to January 2020. Edward holds a Master of Laws in International Law from the University of Cambridge (2023-2024) and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Laws along with a Diploma in Languages (Chinese) from The University of Queensland (2014-2019).
