Eliza Murray

Sir Roland Wilson Foundation Scholar

Eliza Murray is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and General Manager at the Climate Change Authority, a role held since July 2019, providing independent expert advice on climate change policy. In addition to this position, Eliza serves as a member of the National Executive Committee for Scouts Australia and is a Sir Roland Wilson Foundation scholar at the Australian National University, focusing on a PhD thesis titled "Governing complexity: The evolution of polycentric global climate governance." Previous experience includes serving as Director of Mitigation and Climate Science at the Department of the Environment and Energy, where the focus was on developing Australia's Long-term Emissions Reduction Strategy, and roles within international climate change negotiations and land sector policy at the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. Eliza's academic qualifications include a Master of Climate Change, a Bachelor of Science in Ecology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology and Philosophy from the University of Melbourne, along with ongoing doctoral studies at the Australian National University.
