Emi Tanaka

Emi Tanaka is a dedicated academic in the field of statistics, currently serving as Deputy Director and Senior Lecturer at The Australian National University since July 2023. Previously, Emi held the position of Senior Lecturer at Monash University from January 2020 to June 2023, and Lecturer in Statistics at the University of Sydney from January 2017 to December 2019. Emi's early career includes a Research Fellow role at the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics, University of Wollongong (February 2014 - January 2017), contributing to collaborative research within the Grains Research and Development Corporation. Additional experience includes a Postgraduate Teaching Fellow position at the University of Sydney (2009 - August 2013), a tutoring role at UNSW (2010), and a Research Assistant position at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (2008 - 2009). Emi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Statistics and a Bachelor of Science (Adv. Math) in Mathematics and Statistics, both from the University of Sydney.
