Iman Shames

Iman Shames is a Professor of Mechatronics Engineering at The Australian National University, a position held since January 2021. Prior to this role, Iman served as an Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and McKenzie Fellow at the University of Melbourne from August 2012 to January 2021, focusing on the security and resilience of critical infrastructure. Previous experience includes a postdoctoral position at the Royal Institute of Technology, where expertise included secure control systems and distributed optimization, and a researcher role at NICTA specializing in positioning and velocity localization. Iman earned a PhD in Control Systems and Engineering from The Australian National University and a BSc in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Control Engineering from Shiraz University, Iran.
