John Taylor

John Taylor is a distinguished Professor at The Australian National University, with extensive experience in high performance computing and computational science. Taylor previously served as Program Leader for HPC and Computational Science at the Defence Science and Technology Group, where leadership focused on developing high performance computing capabilities for defense research. At CSIRO's Data61, Taylor held the position of Research Group Leader, overseeing computational platforms and contributing significantly to various scientific fields through over 140 publications on computational and simulation science, machine learning, and environmental policy. Earlier roles at CSIRO included Director of eResearch & Computational and Simulation Sciences, leading interdisciplinary teams to deliver strategic research capabilities. Taylor holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Chemistry/Computer Science, both from The Australian National University.
