Larissa Schneider

Associate Professor

Larissa Schneider is an accomplished environmental chemist with extensive experience in academia and research. Currently serving as an Associate Professor and DECRA fellow at The Australian National University since March 2015, Larissa's research focuses on the movement and fate of selenium in aquatic systems and its implications for marine food webs. Previous roles include a Research Officer at the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazonia, where analysis of mercury concentrations in reptiles was conducted, and consultant positions involving Environmental Impact Assessments for various infrastructure projects. Larissa holds a PhD in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Canberra, complemented by an MSc in the same field, and has engaged in hands-on research and community education related to marine turtles and their habitats.
