Liz Killen

Liz Killen is an experienced professional in research and policy analysis, currently serving as Research Director at The Social Research Centre and as a Visiting Fellow at The Australian National University. Previously, Killen held positions as Assistant Manager in the Office of the Chief Scientist of Australia within the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, where acting roles included Chief of Staff and Head of Policy. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Institute for Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge and as a Senior Research Officer at the Government Office for Science. Killen began a career in the nuclear sector at The Nuclear Institute and ANSTO, progressing from Graduate Chemical Engineer to Process Development Chemist. Academically, Killen holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge in Education Policy, an MSc from Imperial College London in Science Communication, and a B.Eng. in Industrial Chemistry from UNSW, complemented by an exchange program at UC Santa Barbara.
