Peter Bridgewater

Honorary Professor

Peter Bridgewater is an esteemed academic and professional in the field of ecology and governance, currently serving as an Honorary Professor at the Australian National University and as an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Applied Ecology and the Institute of Governance & Public Administration at the University of Canberra. With extensive experience as the Director of Global Garden Consulting since 1999, Bridgewater has also held notable roles such as Chair of Wildlife Health Australia and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee in the UK. Additional contributions include evaluating projects for UNON and chairing the strategic review for the Global Biodiversity Information Facility. Bridgewater's tenure as Secretary General of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands from 2003 to 2007 highlights a commitment to conserving wetlands and enhancing ecological governance. Bridgewater holds a BSc and PhD in Botany and Ecology from Durham University.
