Rod Sims

Rod Sims is a Professor in the practice of public policy and antitrust at The Australian National University, with a robust background in competition policy and regulatory frameworks. Sims served as Chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) from August 2011 to March 2022, and previously held leadership roles as Chair of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) and as a Councillor at the National Competition Council. With extensive experience as a Director at Port Jackson Partners and various senior positions in the Australian government, including Deputy Secretary in the Departments of Infrastructure and the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Sims has a comprehensive understanding of economic and regulatory policy. Sims holds a Master of Economics from The Australian National University and a Bachelor of Commerce with First Class Honours from the University of Melbourne.
