Simon R. Doherty

Simon R. Doherty possesses extensive experience in strategic risk management and business continuity, currently serving as the executive-level strategic risk and BCM programs leader at the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority since August 2020. In addition, Simon holds a committee member position with the National Societal Risk Advisory & Research Committee at The Australian National University and is the Stud Principal and Director at Thunder Hill Estate. Previous roles include leading risk management for Thales's $1.2 billion OneSKY program, managing senior executive-level risk advisory services at Telstra Retail, and serving as a deputy chair and independent member on the Audit & Risk Management Committee for Indigo Shire Council. Simon is also an active member of the Risk Management Institute of Australasia and has received the 2015 RMIA Chapter of the Year Award. Educational qualifications include multiple degrees in risk management, emergency health, business, and tourism from various institutions.
