Stephanie Williams currently serves as a Special Advisor to the Chief Medical Officer at the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, a role initiated in November 2023, focusing on strategic and technical issues for the Australian Centre for Disease Control. With extensive experience in public health, Stephanie has held positions as a Visiting Fellow and Lecturer in Global Health Security at the Australian National University since February 2012, and previously served as Ambassador for Regional Health Security at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade until November 2023. Roles also include Medical Advisor at the Australian Department of Health and Public Health Registrar at the Victorian Department of Health, as well as international experience as an Epidemiologist with the World Health Organization. Stephanie holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor’s in Medicine from Monash University and a Master of Applied Epidemiology from The Australian National University.
