Stephen Sherlock

Stephen Sherlock is a seasoned expert in governance, political economy, and development, currently engaged in research at the Australian National University, focusing on the history of the Indonesian parliament. With extensive experience as an independent consultant since 2013, Stephen specializes in parliaments, political parties, electoral systems, and anti-corruption strategies. Previous roles include Senior Researcher for the Australian Parliament, Senior Governance Adviser for Australia Awards Indonesia, and leadership positions at the National Democratic Institute and the Centre for Democratic Institutions. An academic contributor, Stephen served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at UNSW Australia and has published various research papers on democratic governance and political reform in Southeast Asia. Stephen holds a Ph.D. in History and Politics from the University of Sydney, complemented by a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree from Australian universities.
