Derek Foster

Derek Foster has been working as a Frontend Engineer at Anvil since 2021. Previously, they worked at Red Hat from 2016-2021, where they held several roles. As a Senior Software Consultant, they migrated HTML/jQuery pages to React.js frontend with Patternfly, authenticated requests using session management, streamlined developer and business analyst workflow, diagrammed proposed architecture, build pipelines, and Business Central sequence flow, equipped the entire workstream with CI/CD capabilities, and initialized an Undertow on Spring Boot server. As a Software Consultant, they modernized the question/answer framework to enable any conceivable data type as an answer type, migrated a legacy Java application from EJB/Java Swing through exposing services through REST APIs to an Angular.js frontend.

Derek Foster obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2016. In 2020, they completed a Software Engineering Immersive program at General Assembly and obtained a Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification from Red Hat. Additionally, they are currently attending General Assembly to pursue a degree in Computer Software Engineering.
