Deb Banerjee

Deb Banerjee has worked in the technology industry since 1992. In 1995, they joined Transarc as a Principal Member of Technical Staff, where they were responsible for delivering the System Management Solution for Websphere 3.0, Advanced Edition. Deb was also the technical lead of the Encina Transaction Processing (TP) Monitor product from 1996. In 1999, they moved to Vitria as Senior Architect. In 2005, they joined Augmentum as Director. In 2006, they returned to Symantec as Technical Director, Enterprise Security, where they defined, designed and drove the information protection security strategy. Deb also became Director of Engineering, Messaging & Web Security and drove the architecture of the Brightmail Appliance, focusing on scalability and DLP integration. In 2012, they became Chief Architect and Distinguished Engineer, Endpoint Security, leading the evolution of anti-malware technology at the endpoint, combining with application security with cloud-based threat detection and incident response. In 2018, they joined Proofpoint as Vice President and Chief Architect, Email Security Products. Most recently, in 2019, they became Cofounder/CTO at Anvilogic Inc., delivering the Modern Security Operations Platform. Anvilogic's platform enables Enterprise SOC's to adopt modern, cost-effective logging platforms such Snowflake and run them side-by-side with their existing logging platforms such as Splunk using a uniform and consistent analyst interface for detection and investigation required for triage and response using Kill Chain and ATT&CK-based stories.

Deb Banerjee began their educational journey in 1983, when they attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi for their Bachelor of Science - BS and B.Tech in Computer Science. Deb then continued their studies at Dartmouth College, where they obtained their PhD in Computer Science in 1992. In 2010, they obtained their CISSP from (ISC)\u00b2.
