Carey Smith

Carey Smith, CA(SA), has a robust background in finance and credit analysis, beginning with an article trainee position at Deloitte South Africa from January 2005 to December 2007, where auditing experience encompassed both large and medium-sized companies. After transitioning to Rand Merchant Bank, Carey held multiple roles from September 2018 to December 2020, including Head of Africa Credit Enablement for Corporate and Commercial Banking and Senior Corporate Credit Analyst for Rest of Africa Trade and Working Capital, highlighting leadership and team-building capabilities in establishing a trade credit team and managing a significant corporate portfolio. Additional experience includes serving as an Audit Senior on secondment to Deloitte Chicago in early 2008 and as a Profitability Analyst and Financial Planning Accountant at Absa Group from June 2008 to July 2010, focusing on budget management and financial forecasting.
