Derrek Lobo

Derrek Lobo is a Senior Strategy Manager at ANZ, where they apply their extensive background in research and development to drive strategic initiatives. Previously, Derrek gained experience as a Junior Reliability Engineer at Rio Tinto and a Junior Mechanical Engineer at the Australian Synchrotron, among other roles. They completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at Monash University, focusing on the synthesis and assembly of carbon-based materials for energy storage, following an Engineer’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with first-class honors from the same institution. Derrek's passion lies in leveraging new science and technology to benefit consumers, while their analytical skills and strategic thinking aim to facilitate organizational growth and transformation.
