James Somerville is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in competition, consumer, and regulatory law. Currently serving as a Senior Lawyer at ANZ since April 2023, James previously held the position of Managing Associate at Allens from November 2018 to February 2023, and was a Senior Associate specializing in competition and consumer law. Prior to Allens, James spent nearly a decade at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) as a Principal Lawyer, contributing to both the Mergers & Authorisation Law Unit and the Competition and Consumer Law Unit. James began his legal career at Allens in February 2006 as a Lawyer. James holds a combined LLB (Hons) and Bachelor of Science in Genetics from The University of Queensland, earned between 2000 and 2005.
