Martin Joy

Martin Joy is the Group General Manager of Government Relations and Policy at ANZ, bringing over two decades of experience in banking, law, government, and consulting. They hold a doctorate in financial regulation and have expertise in various policy areas, including consumer protection and governance. Martin has played a key role in securing government approvals for significant acquisitions, such as ANZ Bank’s acquisition of Suncorp Bank, and has prepared senior executives for numerous parliamentary appearances. Their previous roles include senior advisor at ASIC, director at Deloitte Australia, and associate at prestigious law firms. As a part-owner of Pyren Vineyard since 2003, Martin also emphasizes team development and stakeholder relationship building.
