Matthew Galt is a Senior Economist at ANZ, having started in 2025. Previously, they were a Senior Analyst at The Treasury in New Zealand from 2019 to 2020, where they advised the Minister of Finance and led significant economic research. Before that, they served as a Policy Advisor and Senior Policy Advisor at Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga - Ministry of Housing and Urban Development NZ from 2017 to 2019. Matthew began their career at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, working as an Analyst and later becoming a Senior Analyst from 2014 to 2017. They hold a Bachelor of Science with honours in Economics from the University of Canterbury, where they graduated with first-class honours in 2013.
