Sam Garland

Sam Garland is the Group General Manager of Internal Audit at ANZ, where they lead the global internal audit function, providing independent assurance to the Board on internal control and risk management. Until 2025, Sam served as the Banking and Capital Markets Leader for PwC Australia, where they drove relationships in the Banking industry and provided assurance and advisory services on risk management and regulatory challenges. Sam's career includes roles at KPMG and various positions within PwC focused on financial assurance and consulting for clients across the Banking and Capital Markets sector. Additionally, Sam is a director and deputy chair of Barnardos Australia, contributing to child protection initiatives in the country. Sam holds qualifications as a Chartered Accountant and degrees from the University of Leeds, Manchester Business School, and INSEAD Executive Education.
