Steen Retboll

Steen Retboll is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in financial services, particularly in markets technology. Currently serving as Head of Markets Technology at ANZ, Steen oversees all IT assets supporting trading, sales, and operations. Previously, Steen held significant roles at Danske Bank, including Managing Director of the Markets Front Office Tribe, where a successful agile organization was developed that integrates business, quant, and IT functions. Additional leadership experience includes positions at RBS Financial Markets as Global Head of Pricing and Electronic Trading Technology, and earlier roles at NatWest and Credit Suisse, focused on software development and strategic architecture. Steen began a career in software engineering at the European Space Agency, contributing to critical operating systems and flight dynamics projects. Steen holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Maths from Aarhus University.
