Mark Markel

Mark Markel is the President of the AO Foundation and serves as a Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. With a commitment to enhancing patient care, Mark has held various leadership roles, including Diplomate at the American College of Veterinary Surgeons since 1988 and President of the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges. Mark is currently the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, where they guide strategic research direction. Mark's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics from Mayo Graduate School and a D.V.M. from the University of California, Davis.
