Philipp Wagenblast

Philipp Wagenblast is an experienced engineering professional in the field of laser technology and additive manufacturing. At SPI Lasers, Philipp served as Chief Engineer for Fibre Lasers from July 2012 to March 2016. Prior to that, Philipp was employed at TRUMPF from May 2005 to June 2012, where various roles included Research and Development Engineer, Head of Process Development Additive Manufacturing, Chief Scientist for Laser Metal Fusion, and Head of Advance R&D Additive Manufacturing. Philipp's academic background includes a Diploma and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Currently, Philipp is the Director of Instruments R&D at AP Sensing, a position held since May 2025, and completed a postdoctoral associate role at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from February 2004 to April 2005.
