Christopher Broad

Christopher Broad has a diverse work experience in the engineering and energy industry. Christopher began their career as a Blast Crew and Shotfirer at Mount Gibson Iron, where they focused on quality control and assurance in blasting operations. Christopher then joined QGC - A BG Group Business and worked as a Student Summer Vacation Programme participant, gaining experience in production engineering. Christopher continued at QGC as an Operations Engineer in the BG Group International Graduate Development Programme, managing production from coal seam gas wells and conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis. Following this, they became a Field Engineer in Maintenance, developing a maintenance catalogue for flexible production hosing and mapping process systems.

Christopher then transitioned to APA Group, where they held several roles. As a System Control Engineer, they operated and managed compression and transmission facilities. Christopher also served as a Process Engineer, supporting greenfield and brownfield projects, troubleshooting, and risk assessment. Additionally, they were a Team Lead for Far West Queensland, overseeing operations and maintenance teams and ensuring safe execution of work across pipelines and assets.

Throughout their roles at APA Group, Christopher focused on gas transportation, emissions reduction, power generation dispatch optimization, and ensuring safe process limits. Christopher took on responsibilities such as being a Process Safety Champion, data owner, and end user for operational tools and systems.

Christopher Broad obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Chemical Engineering from Curtin University between 2009 and 2012. In 2023, they also obtained certifications as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland from The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland, a Chartered Professional Engineer from Engineers Australia, and was also listed on the National Engineering Register by Engineers Australia.
