Mark Tomasso

Mark Tomasso, P.G., is a seasoned geological advisor with extensive experience in conventional exploration. Currently serving as a Geological Advisor at Apache Corporation since August 2021, Mark previously held a similar role at Icon Information Consultants, LP for a brief period in June to July 2021. Prior to that, Mark was actively seeking new opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic after a comprehensive tenure at Kosmos Energy from 2013 to 2020, where Mark advanced from Exploration Geologist to Senior Exploration Geologist and Technical Team Lead, focusing on significant projects in Suriname and the Gulf of Guinea. Mark's earlier experience includes roles at Merit Energy Company, Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute, the Bureau of Economic Geology, and university research positions, showcasing a robust background in geology, geophysics, and leading technical teams. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Geological and Earth Sciences from the University of Birmingham, a Master's Degree in Energy Business from The University of Tulsa, and a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science degree from Royal Holloway, University of London.
