James Spinks has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. James began their career in 1991 as a Munitions Maintenance Crew Member in the United States Air Force. James steadily progressed through various roles, including Munitions Maintenance Crew Chief and Squadron Personnel Reliability Program Manager, where they were responsible for managing programs and ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets.

In 2000, James transitioned to the role of Munitions Controller/Scheduler, where they supervised the planning, coordination, and maintenance of munitions facilities and personnel. James later held positions such as Munitions Storage Crew Chief/Dispatcher and Asst. Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Combat Munitions Plans and Training.
