Senior Vice President/senior Director And North America Media Practice Lead at APCO Worldwide

Iris Shaffer has an extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. Iris currently holds a role as a Member at Chief since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at APCO Worldwide from 2015 to 2021, where they held various positions including Senior Vice President/Senior Director and North America Media Practice Lead, and Vice President/Director. Their responsibilities included leading the North America Media Relations practice, managing key clients for brand building and reputation management, and developing corporate communications programs.

Iris's career began as an Account Coordinator at Ogilvy and Mather Direct from 1986 to 1987. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in media relations, communications planning, stakeholder engagement, crisis communications, and strategic leadership.

Iris Shaffer has a Master of Science degree in Communication from Illinois State University, which they obtained from 1992 to 1993. The program they were enrolled in was disbanded before its completion. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they completed from 1981 to 1985. In addition, they have obtained a certification as a Professional from the Academy of Healthcare Management, which is provided by America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), although the specific date of their certification is not provided.
