Dan Engel

Dan Engel is an experienced venture capital professional and investor, currently serving as a Member at YPO Pacific One since January 2025. As the Managing Partner and Founder of Santa Barbara Venture Partners since August 2020, Dan leads a mid-stage venture capital firm focused on customer acquisition and marketing for portfolio companies. Investments include Jackpocket, which was recently acquired by DraftKings for $750 million, and Umbra, a pioneer in advanced space radar technology. Dan has also invested in Apeel, valued at over $2 billion for its food waste reduction technology, and Seed Investor roles at SafeGraph and Bark, both addressing significant societal challenges. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Tulane University and has served as an advisor to SupportYourApp, contributing to its growth from inception to over 1,500 employees.
