Matthew Barrett

Matthew Barrett has extensive work experience in manufacturing operations and engineering. Matthew currently holds the role of Director of Manufacturing Operations at Apeel since June 2021, where they previously served as Associate Director and Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations. Prior to that, they worked at Shire as the Head of Plant Engineering- Final Drug Product from June 2016 to July 2020. Before joining Shire, Barrett worked at Baxalta as a Manager of Process Engineering from April 2015 to October 2017, where they led a team and implemented a life cycle analysis program for manufacturing equipment. Matthew started their career at Baxter International Inc. as an Engineer II in November 2009 and subsequently held various roles, such as Sr. Engineer and Principal Engineer, managing large-scale projects and leading teams.

Matthew Barrett attended the University of Southern California from 2004 to 2008. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering.
