Derek L.

Derek L. has extensive work experience in the field of IT and security. Derek worked as the Director of IT & Security at Aperian Global, where they implemented and managed ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certification processes. Derek developed and implemented policies, procedures, and controls to align with certification requirements.

Prior to that, Derek worked at Meridian Resources Associates as an IT Manager. In this role, they managed computer and application networks, telephony, and end-user support. Derek also migrated and upgraded application infrastructure and systems, and managed IT vendor contracts and relationships.

Derek began their career as a Senior EDP Analyst at Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC). Derek designed, coded, implemented, and maintained database applications on a nationwide scale. Derek was responsible for project management, user support, and network maintenance and administration.

Throughout their career, Derek has also held positions such as Web Application Engineer at Broadvision, Senior Web Engineer at Fair Isaac, and Front-End Developer/Designer at Broderbund Software. Derek has demonstrated skills in web development, content migration, and ad-hoc reporting and analysis.

Derek L. has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus in Management Informations Systems (MIS) from the University of Hawai‘i - Shidler College of Business.
