Nelli Oster

Nelli Oster is the current Director of ESG & SRI at Aperio Group. Nelli has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, with a focus on investment strategy and research.

Nelli started their career at Goldman Sachs as an equity researcher. After two years, they moved to Wells Fargo Asset Management, where they spent four years as Head of Research and Product Development for Strategic Business Segments, and Senior Researcher for Multi-Asset Solutions.

In 2008, Nelli joined BlackRock (legacy BGI) as a Senior Investment Strategist and Quantitative Researcher / Portfolio Manager. Nelli was a founding member of the Global Investment Strategy and Model Portfolio Solutions team, focused on market / investment research for institutional and retail clients, and model portfolios for advisory platforms. Nelli conducted global investment strategy research and thought leadership, and managed model portfolio development. Nelli was also a frequent speaker at industry and client conferences on the firm's global investment outlook, behavioral finance, and women & investing. Nelli left BlackRock in 2016 to join Aperio Group as Director of ESG & SRI.

Nelli Oster has a PhD in Finance from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BSc (Hons) in Management Sciences from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Nelli Oster reports to Liz Michaels, Co-Head of Aperio, Chicago.
