Mark Comins

Mark Comins is the current President at Aperion Information Technologies. Prior to this, they were the Vice President at Personal Touch Custom Software from January 1987 to January 1998 where they managed a staff of 5 technicians. There, they designed, implemented, and supported custom applications for small businesses in the Detroit Metro Area trying to move their business from manual systems to computers starting in the early 1980’s. The software they developed was designed to automate the customer’s manual processes and provide them a competitive advantage.

Comins is also proficient in various programming languages and databases including filePro, Unify and Dbase, C, and script programming. In addition, they are also proficient in various operating systems including SCO Xenix, SCO Unix, TRS Xenix, Microsoft Xenix, DOS and Windows. Prior to their work at Personal Touch Custom Software, Comins was the Accounting Manager at Evola Music from March 1984 to January 1992 where they managed the accounting staff for a chain of retail music stores with five locations in South Eastern Michigan. There, they supervised all accounting functions through the G/L and the preparation of internal financial statements. Mark also moved the organization from Pegboard Accounting and 3x5 cards for customer history to a multiuser computer system running a customized fully integrated accounting system. Furthermore, they developed new procedures for conversion of manual paper based filing system to paperless automated systems and networked the stores together to leverage the information provided by the new accounting system.

Mark Comins attended graduate school at Goldman Sacs 10,000 Small Businesses in Detroit, Michigan. Mark then went on to earn their MSA in management from Central Michigan University. Finally, they earned their BS in economics and human resources from Oakland University.
