Barbara Marques

Barbara Marques has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Barbara currently works as a Data Engineer at Apexon, where they started in April 2022. Prior to that, they were a Junior Data Engineer at Gathi Analytics, an Infostretch Company, from February to March 2022.

In 2021, Barbara worked as a Data Science & Analytics Manager at Workforce Solutions Alamo from July to December. Before transitioning into the data field, they had a long career in education. From 2011 to 2020, they served as a Secondary Math Educator at SCHERTZ-CIBOLO-UNIVERSAL CITY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT. Prior to that, they were a Middle School Math Educator at NEW BRAUNFELS ISD from January 2009 to August 2010.

Barbara's work experience also includes a role as a Managing Editor at The Beacon Magazine & Website from August 2001 to December 2006. Before that, they worked as a Litigation Legal Assistant at Thornton Summers Biechlin Dunh from March 1998 to July 2001.

Barbara Marques is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Business Analytics at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, starting in 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Data Science Graduate program at Codeup from 2020 to 2021. Barbara also engaged in graduate work at Texas State University, focusing on Secondary Education and Teacher Certification, and attended Texas Woman's University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Government/Business Administration.

In addition to their academic achievements, Barbara Marques holds certifications in various areas. Barbara obtained a Hands-On Essentials - Data Warehouse certification from Snowflake in April 2023. In August 2022, they acquired the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification and the AWS Partner: Accreditation (Technical) from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in June 2022.
