Luke Short

Luke Short is the Director of the Dallas County Public Health Laboratory, where they oversee a CLIA-accredited facility serving 2.6 million residents. With expertise in laboratory modernization, regulatory compliance, and advanced analytics, they have held roles including Senior Scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and interim Laboratory Director at the DC Public Health Laboratory. Currently, Luke serves on the APHL Board of Directors, guiding policy and community advancement in public health laboratory practices. They hold dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Chemistry and are pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine.
